CROSSOVERS WITH A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE: TABLETOP MINIATURES GAME

Hail Bannermen!

In the realm of tabletop gaming, a new dawn is upon us with the introduction of A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics. This brand-new skirmish game stands distinct from its predecessor, the acclaimed A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game (ASOIAF: TMG), offering players a fresh perspective on the battles that shape Westeros. While players may encounter some familiar characters, the mechanics and completely different ruleset offer a refreshing and unique experience.

The Essence of SONG: Tactics

Unlike the grand-scale battles of ASOIAF: TMG, A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics zooms in on the heart of the conflict, focusing on important characters and small-scale skirmishes that unveil a different dimension of warfare. Players assemble war bands to engage in strategic clashes on scenario maps, delving into pivotal moments in Westerosi history.

Journeying Through Eras: The Battle of the Trident

A captivating feature of A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics is its exploration of different eras within the vast lore of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice & Fire. The game kicks off with the Battle of the Trident, an iconic conflict predating Robert Baratheon’s demise. This means players encounter units from a specific point in the narrative, some of which may have already met their fate before the timeline explored in ASOIAF: TMG.

Units from A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics seamlessly integrate with ASOIAF: TMG movement trays, sharing the same base sizes. Players may take elect units and models from ASOIAF: TMG to use them in A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics and vice versa.

For instance, players who have purchased the Battle of the Trident Skirmish Set will eventually be able to use Robert Baratheon in their ASOIAF: TMG games as an attachment or commander. (His character profile will be made available in the A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics Companion app, but more on that later.)

As another example, players owning the Stag Knights Unit box from ASOIAF: TMG may include additional Stag Knights into their Baratheon war bands, even though the Battle of the Trident Skirmish set only comes with one Stag Knight.

The A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics Companion App

Complementing this new game is the A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics Companion App, a tool to enhance your gaming experience. The Companion App serves as a comprehensive hub for all unit cards and stats available at launch. This app will also be updated with more content as it is released.

In addition to generating printable cards, building and storing warbands, and tracking collections, the app serves as an in-game companion. Players can use it to monitor Wounds and character conditions during battles, and the app records the results of these skirmishes.

Unlocking Global Engagement

Looking ahead, the A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics Companion App aims to foster player engagement further providing users access to global statistics, showcasing new strategies, and popular unit choices.

So... Prepare your war bands, venture into Westeros, and brace for the unfolding epic that awaits on the battlefields of A Song of Ice & Fire: Tactics!
