Cthulhu: Death May Die Live on Kickstarter

The lights are low. The stars are out. The candles are lit. The sacrifices have been made. The incantations have been read. The portals are opening. And soon, the summoned Great Old One will make their way to this realm and bring insanity and destruction to everything before them. Humanity is most certainly doomed… or is it? A group of Investigators has found a small crack in the seemingly invulnerable armor of an immortal god, and they’ll have just a single chance to blow it away and save the world from a horrifying fate. Timing is everything. They have to strike… right… now!

Cthulhu: Death May Die (C: DMD), the new game from CMON and Guillotine Games, is now live on Kickstarter. The game was created by Eric M. Lang and Rob Daviau, inspired by the works of horror author H.P. Lovecraft. Creating the monsters, often described as indescribable was the task for artist Adrian Smith. The art for the Investigators was done by Karl Kopinski and his flair for creating pop 20s characters. The miniatures for the game were done by the crew under guidance of Mike McVey. Everyone behind the game is legendary in their field, and the collaboration is unlike any other in the gaming world.

In C: DMD, players work cooperatively as Investigators, trying to defeat a Great Old One as it is being summoned into the world. It is far too late to actually keep the god from breaching into our dimensionthe world, but it’s not too late to maybe find a weakness and exploit it at just the right moment. Players must fight off deranged cultists, slay grotesque monstrosities, and look for clues in order to save the world. Each Episode has its own custom map made up of the game’s modular tiles, and features a different Elder God, with their own loyal cultists and monsters that accompany it. Each Investigator is also unique, with special abilities and powers that gives them an edge. The game brings the creepy, surreal world of H.P. Lovecraft and puts it right on the tabletop.
